Gasket sets in Aus

Postby James » Mon Jun 13, 2005 12:33 pm

I just had a talk to a guy over here in NZ and he said they get all their cityturbo gasket sets from AA gaskets in Aussie. Crackup aye, after all this hassle for getting them in Aus, thats where the ones here are made.

So, it turns out that ACL stock a FULL gasket set for the city turbo, and any repco or supercheap auto in australia should be able to hook you up.

The part number for the FULL gasket set is

GA5320

Say that this is an ACL part and you should be on your way.

Perhaps ACL made a set that was for both and if there was anything different they just included both kinds, I think there were a few spare bits left over in Colza's full gasket set after we had repleneshed everything.

Possibly they are not listed as a turbo gasket set in Aus cause they're arent ment to be any turbos over there, so they didnt bother listing it.

called a bunch of places thisarvo, nasons engine parts, coventry auto parts, and a heap of others,
a few of them had it in their system but none could actually get it the last bloke i called was the most helpful explaining that because of australias recent mass freakout about asbestos :o these gasket sets are no longer made in/avalible in australia?but he recons they are made in nz or at least still sold in nz.so that pretty mutch brings us full circle back to where we started
bigelboe can you see if your man can get one sent to him to have sent back to me ::)
qikludes part no was the one that they all found it under v2028kc
cheers mate

Yeah I had that part number too, but the guy said to use the other one if I was trying to find it in Australia.

Go figure, i'll try and order one of the full sets tomorrow. I think there might be another company here in NZ that maybe makes them aswell, anyway I will find out for you, hopefully I dont need a credit card to buy it.

Hope you want that gasket set cause I just bought it :o

I just got another ACL gasket today for a Suzuki Alto, its surface looks exactly the same as the city one Colza had did, no asbestos warnings on it, and im pretty sure if it contains it, they have to say so. Only thing I see these days with those warnings on it is brake pads...

Anyway, glad to be of help, anyone else in Aussie ever need a kiwi part hook-up, just gis a yell.
