Cold air intake mod (T2).

Postby bmgjet » Fri Aug 26, 2011 5:40 pm

This mod requires that you have the heater removed.

Basically you want to run the intake into the cabin, How this is done is with
2X 90degree silicon/rubber bends.
1X 47mm mandrel bent U bend (or size to match your silicon/rubber bends).
1X 47mm, 40mm long bit of pipe (or size to match your setup).
1X podfilter with 50mm inlet or adapter.

Connect the first 90degree bend to the turbo.

Connect U bend into that,

Connect next 90degree bent and run it though the firewall hole for the heater core.

Connect bit of pipe into that bend with the pod filter attached.(havnt done yet in pic)

Note:
Turbo spool sound becomes quite loud, This can be fixed if you wish by using the heater core plastic box and putter it over the pod filter.

Also a further improvement would be if you keep the rest of the heater box/piping that runs to the vent on the outside of the car.

And even further improved if you have AC that still works and use that to cool the air down ;).
