Field Hyper-R (AFC, Testing with city)

Postby bmgjet » Sat Sep 17, 2011 11:52 am

Got one of these cheap off trademe and have been having a play around with it and it seems to work well with the city T2.

It has support for 2X MAF sensors so it works with the citys 2X MAP sensors.

It didn't come with a english manual so Iv had to find out what does what by trial and error and my poor Japanese reading skills. and here is what iv found so far.

White wire = O2 sensor, which goes to Pin A36 (white)
Red = 12V
Black = Earth
Green = RPM, goes to -VE on the dizzy (1nd set dip switches on the back need to be (1)U,(2)D)
Violet = Modified speed signal (chop it off since city has no speed cut)
Blue = Speed input, Goes to blue wire behind dash (2nd set of dip switches on back need to be (1)U,(3)D,(4)D)
Brown = Map1 input, goes to A26 (white/blue) (needs to be cut this is sensor side)
Orange = Map1 output, Goes to A26 (white/blue) (needs to be cut this is ecu side)
Yellow = Map2 input , Goes to A33 (light blue) (needs to be cut this is sensor side)
Dark Blue= Map2 output, Goes to A33 (light blue) (needs to be cut this is ecu side)

[1st set dip switches (3)U = single map sensor. (3)D = twin map sensor mode. (4)U = raising voltage sensor. (4)D = dropping voltage sensor.]
(5)U(6)U(7)U(8)D]

So far the modes Iv figured out are
Mode 1 = memory map1
Mode 2 = memory map1
Mode 3 = memory map2

double pushing the button changes to extra mode (RPM,0-400M,Speed)
single press of mode button changes between these.)

Iv managed to adjust the map sensors independently but if they difference between them is too great where there overlap around 3Krpm it throws a error.

Will be doing more testing when I get some free time on the dyno.

Been doing some more playing with it and the switches for the boot cut dont really work that well since it only has the option for 3V then the next steep is 3.5V where the citys cut is at 3.28V

I guess you could use it at 3V if you really wind up the fuel pressure and make a lot of adjustments but Id rather have more room to play with.
