distributor cap problem... where to get one

hey guys,

i have the VF city pro T and cant seem to get the dizzy cap anywhere, i can get the civic one (which bosch says is the right one) but it doesnt have the straight cutout bit,

any ideas on where to get the dizzy cap from, the one i have is shagged

Would it be the correct one based on the Technical Information they have provided?

I see they they do & don't post to Australia? Best to contact them I think.

pro t the pic is correct for the na's but be careful the early civics have a similar configuration with different phasing of the rotor. this is my problem I can get the right shaped cap but it fires before the leading edge of the rotor

Dredging this thread up from the dead.... I have had huge issues buying a cap for my City. It would seem that the OP had the same issues. I bought a Bosch GH628 which is the correct shape but the wrong phase.

I spent literally 10hrs at my local parts stores and on google... I eventually tracked down the correct cap overseas in the Netherlands. They had only one left and after all the bank fees and postage, it cost me $64. I just bought it today.

To help others in the future i'll post the details of the correct cap here. I believe it's made by Facet and part code 2.7945

if it's the wrong phase, can't you move the plug leads?

I believe he is meaning that the position of the pickup points is different to the standard cap (a few mm to early or late) which will effect timing dramatically, not the firing order 1,3,4,2. And at a guess there isn't enough slot to allow the dizzy to be rotated enough to correct the timing issue, you could however (NOT RECOMMENDED) move the dizzy a tooth either way to allow the slot to be in the right place but i would not do that with a Turbo City as you're likely to run into issues with the cam/crank position sensor timing.
