Are the T1 Fog Lights Same As T2?

I've read that T1 lights will fit the T2 but are they the same? The ones I pulled off my T2 look different and I'm not totally sure if they were replaced at one time.
I have yellow CIBIE 35's. They didn't fit well... which is one indication that they in fact were not OEM stock parts. But needed clarification.
