Turbo intake

Postby Nicky2 » Mon May 20, 2013 10:47 pm

The pipe that joins to the front of the turbo from the air filter had fallen off. I reconnected it and now I have lost a bit of power and the waste gate sound is gone. Is this normal?

Yes. The air filter is a restriction so lowers the performance, that's why people upgrade them. However you don't want to run without one or your turbo will suck up all sorts of crap which will destroy it.

I'm running a stainless pipe off my turbo through the stock air box (gutted it out so it's just a shell) then running it to a pod in the guard.
This maintains the standard look of the top mounted air box which I like but you get the gains of a less restrictive filter.
Ill upload a photo if your keen to check it out
