Overheating 1984 honda r

Flushed radiator...replaced thermostat... (as there wasn't one in there when i inspected) why?.(suspicious #1)..checked intake and outlet hoses..all good. Fan turns on as soon as I start up (suspicious #2).....heater goes...as I turn on high to bring down temp..I suspect something happened from previous owner.....no water in oil...or radiator..any ideas any one?.

Not to sure whats going on there, thermostat most likely removed to help stop overheating issue, water pump could be an issue however the original copper radiators are notorious for the cores getting blocked causing them to run hotter than normal but if you have flushed it & flows fine then i can only think water pump. Sounds like fan has been hard wired on to help aid cooling but it could just have a stuffed switch.

I looked it up on the computer system at work today but had no listing for AA City
However you should be able to use a Dayco universal tap. looking in their catalog they have two that have cable 2 pipe with the 90 degree angle.
DHV5105 & DHV5202. Hope this helps.

If you're not losing any fluid,the fan works and the radiator flows,I'd say your water pump could very well be cactus.
But yeah as said before,the radiators are prone to clogging up in these things.
Mine was blocked where the thermo switch is..when I held my hand on the radiator the whole radiator got hot except for the bit where the sensor sits. Because the thermo switch didnt get to about 90 degrees the fan never came on and i cooked the head gasket.
I got away with flushing is out for now, but that's only a temporary fix as i know it'll do it again.
Oh and replaced the head gasket.
But yeah if it flows good...I'd say waterpump

Awsome team...i replaced radiator with new cores...replaced water pump and replaced blown therm switch. Runs like a dream now....no loss of fluids or high temps been 6 weeks car is purring. Thanks for all your help.
