i dont think they are coming back

fader emailed the host of the site and have'nt received a reply or anything in a few weeks.  so shall we bite the bullet and just use this or should we wait it out a bit longer?

Brendan,  bit of a bugger, was some good stuff on there and forum use seems to have dropped off since everything else dropped off. If you start it up again, can you transfer this stuff on and if you get the other back can the two lots be amalgamated. I'm afraid I'm not much help, computers don't understand me!! Maybe in the future someone should copy the site info occasionally as a backup. (is that possible) Henry.

we can keep all the current stuff we have now and if the other stuff comes back we *might* be able to merge it in, but thats not likely.

i'll be doing a backup every week or two from now on

Yeah, there was some good stuff on the last one, but give this a few weeks and it will be equally as helpful. You can't keep a good City enthusiast down!!  ;D
It's a kind of electronic bonding tool anyway, I know I appreciate the comments and being able to join in with all you guys (including the girls!)
As soon as everybody knows this is the new official forum, it will be business as usual I'm sure!!
As an IT guy, I know how it feels to lose valuable data. You kick yourself and learn how to avoid doing the same thing next time.  :-/
