Re: Twin Pot Calipers?

Postby KingCity » Fri Jul 31, 2015 4:57 pm

Thanks. Umm so I've heard & read there was a special 80's Prelude or Accord that came out with twin pot calipers, I thought there was one down at the wreckers here but no I lucked out there. As for 4 pot calipers well if Honda have used them they are likely to only be on the NSX or much newer cars, unfortunately i am not up with the play on brake units that Honda use.

Drag Update With The NOS

Postby KingCity » Sat Nov 21, 2015 7:47 pm

I was also at the Honda Drag meet a couple weekends ago to finely try it with the nitrous but didn't even get close to my PB time. I was running a T1 turbo on the T2 manifolds which seems to hold its 11psi boost better with hardly any creep & a 30hp shot of nitrous but only ran a best of 14.8 at 94.1mph (151kph) which isn't great but still not to bad considering I'm well down on power using the nitrous compared to running 20psi of boost or more so it was a good test.

Unfortunately they were only writing out the times on paper without doing a full printout so i had no idea what my 60 foot times were to give a comparison with my other times. The car seemed fairly good off the mark with more than enough traction but i had a lot of axle tramping problems trying to warm the tires.

NAC Car Culture were there filming & i was lucky enough to get in front of the camera as i was the odd ball Honda there so they thought that was a good enough reason so there's a good chance you may see some footage of the car running. When they were filming i had only managed a 15.1 at that stage & i really thought i would have been doing low 14's easy, when am i going to give up on trying to get a 13

All motivation has gone unfortunately. The GA2 City is only 100kgs heavier than the AA city so by the time i put the B18C in the AA City its probably only likely to be around 50-60kgs lighter than the GA City so there's going to be bugger all performance differences between them so i might as well just stick to the GA2 City.

Very!
There's a lot of work needed to make it work but it is do-able, i just had to see it for myself while i had the motor out repairing the turbo.

I stuck your pictures on my FB page, nearly 3000 views..maybe should complete the job just for the sake of being popular? Meanwhile a guy in Malaysia posted a pic of this City with a Daihatsu K3 unit in it

Adjustable Suspension?

Postby spike10000 » Tue Jun 06, 2017 1:38 pm

King, I was reading in a separate search that you had some custom adjustable suspension done for your city by Cobra? Any details you can share would be appreciated :D

Hello Spike. I had some KYZ shocks from SpeedFactor in Tauranga which they made up some threaded steel bars that fitted into the standard City knuckles but i sold them to Turdbo a while back. The Cobra side of things was to get springs made up for the standard City shocks.
