it's from the jap sites, i've seen it before.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were a city with renault front end (bumper, lights, bonnet) and some styling at rear flairs.

Looks cool to me, better than our silly round lights... i was thinking of changing, to squarish lights...

I think there is too much that doesnt fit to make a City body. Everything is just slightly different.

It does appear to have T2 seats though :-/

The back windows are different arent they (dont have a city at the mo so im not sure)? But that would be ludicrous to change, there would be a huge amount of structural shifting to do that!

It has a T2 Interior notice the anologue dash. (very nice) ;)
Also the back end it the same as a T2 except for the bumper and side flairing.

Its all just wrong. :-/

Man that is a copy of a renault 5 turbo 2.  It was a group B rally car.  the road going version had 150hp and the race car came out with more than 260hp.  It has a rear mounted 1.5 litre turbo engine and was rear wheel drive.  There's a guy in queensland that has one.  My good friend Damian Both (vice chairman of Renault car club) went for a ride in one and said it was f**king insain.  this guy obviously couldn't find one so he decided to make his own.  if you know the history of the original car you would respect the creator of this example.

Yeah those pics of the Renault were taken in Japan. Still sad to do it to a T2 though. But considering I heard the prices of a Renault 5 were $30,000 upwards I can understand why.

The honda City/gen1 civic was based on a renault 5 believe it or not. :)  just like the Datsun 1600 was based on a BMW 2002.  the normal r5 was a FWD front engine just like the city.  They also came out with a turbo version (R5 GT turbo).  This car is a big hit in england.  It's also the car in the Ali G movie!

Renault also invented the turbocharger!  Alot of Americans think that GM did because they where the first company to release it on a production car (some chevy I think).  Then they said 'turbochargers wasn't an efficient way of making power'.  HOW WRONG WERE THEY!
